We live in a 1960s ranch style home
on 10 acres off Nebraska Hwy 84. It originally belonged to my husband's aunt
and uncle...and at heart, always will. We moved here in 1997 and my husband
still fondly refers to it as "Herb's place".
As you will see from the pics our
house is a work in progress. My husband comes from a family of 14 children (not a typo) and is extremely handy. He's also very humble by nature and unfortunately doesn't share an ounce of my enthusiasm for design:(
While being married to thee 'anti-decorator' has had its challenges over the years... it has also been the motivation I needed to develop my DIY skills, live within my means, and learn the art of compromise and persuasion.

Our living room...
and kitchen.
I opted for some open shelving...
used ASCP 'Paris Grey' and clear wax to update my nearly 50 year old cabinets.
