Burlap Monogram

Happy New Year from 13CCF! I hope you and your loved ones had a wonderful Christmas. Our family certainly did here in Nebraska. Not one finger was lifted to accomplish any DIY projects over Xmas break. Instead we played games, rode snowmobiles, watched hordes of movies, and consumed massive amounts of food. Massive! After 13 days off (and 9 sleepovers with friends and family) my kids finally returned to school today.

Since I've been on a holiday sabbatical I decided to showcase someone else's work this week. Today's project comes from my dear friend Nikki. She has many talents but in the last few years Nik has become quite the crafter thanks to Pinterest. This year for Christmas she gave my entire family these awesome burlap anniversary prints.

For this craft project Nikki bought a package of
8.5 X 11 inch laminated burlap at Hobby Lobby.
The front looks and feels like burlap
but the back has a finished/waxy coating on it.
I'm not sure how else to describe it.
Then Nikki simply created a word document on her computer
and put the burlap sheets directly into her brand new printer.
IKR! That sounds a little scary but it worked!

 So what'cha think?

I love it.

Thanks, Nik!
What a great idea!
Who needs stencils? The options are endless with a printer.

In my grandest Charlton Heston voice I proclaim unto you,

"Let the monogramming begin!"

If you can find the burlap 'paper' of course.
LOL
I haven't had any luck at Hobby Lobby yet
but Nik thinks a similar product is sold at Michael’s.
When I googled laminate burlap sheets I discovered Walmart sells it, too...
but they were out of stock.
Good Luck!

As always thanks for reading! Stop back next week to see what 2015 has in store for 13CCF!
